Kiddington Hall is situated in the
picturesque Cotswold hamlet of Kiddington, 4 miles north of the
market town of Woodstock, famous for Blenheim Palace, and 12 miles
north of Oxford. The house and garden combine the work of two famous
designers: Sir Charles Barry and Capability Brown. Barry
considered the garden should
be a formal architectural extension
to the remodelled 1673 Manor House, whilst Capability Brown believed
that the country house should spring straight out of a natural
landscape with its hidden ha-ha.
The house was completed c 1850 and is renowned for
its beautiful rolling parkland, formal gardens, lakes and landscaped
lawns, and is now a family home. The magnificent coach house and stable courtyard
have been converted
into a modern, fully equipped conference centre. The stunningly beautiful Orangery, adjacent to the
village church, with
its own immaculate lawn is perfect for the quintessentially
English country wedding.
With its secluded, peaceful setting deep in the
heart of the English countryside, it is a unique and exclusive venue
for conferences, meetings, weddings, private parties and special
occasions. |
